We designed a new visual world for Chase and Status Live - built around themes of rage, rawness and chaos. This show was about stripping back polish and putting grit front and centre - bringing aggression back into electronic music.
The show is built entirely from filmed content - no animation, no CG. Every look is captured in-camera. For the live camera treatments, we used Notch to build a full suite of effects: background removal, face tracking and layered distortion, designed to blend live feeds seamlessly with the filmed material.
The show doesn’t follow a narrative in the traditional sense. Instead, it builds a world through fragments - recurring locations, figures, and textures. Moments return across the set, distorted or reframed, not to tell a story, but to reinforce the atmosphere and attitude of the show.
The film shoot for Chase and Status Live was a collaboration between FRAY Studio and Two and Eight. Across two days we took over an abandoned warehouse with cane corsos, pyro teams and a wrecking crew. The brief: build a visual world that felt rough, fast and lived-in.
All footage was captured practically - no VFX, no 3D. Shot on ARRI35 with anamorphic lenses and high-speed Ember cameras at 600fps, we filmed in a space designed to be destroyed: cars smashed and torched, walls tagged, and a stunt performer set on fire.
Working closely across both teams, we developed a visual language that rejected sheen. Every decision - from lens choice to treatment design - was about grounding the show in something visceral and physical.
